2194ind01   HEULANDITE, STILBITE in GEODE - $450   SOLD
Jalgaon, Maharashtra, India
11.5 x 7.5 x 6 cm

 

 

Excellent specimen with a double terminated mauve colored lustrous Heulandite aesthetically positioned in a vug lined with druzy Quartz.  In association are several cream colored Stilbite crystals and a minor cluster of small Calcite.  Absolutely no damage to this great Indian specimen.

Excellent twinned Calcite a matrix with terminated and double terminated Stilbite crystals and little mound of Quartz druze and Quartz druze stalactitic growths.  A very small 4 mm corner of the Calcite on the matrix edge is missing.  Also a 3mm micro roughness at the center of edge and common internal Calcite cleavages are present. Otherwise the Calcite is undamaged and lustrous and is a excellent example of a large Indian Calcite on matrix.

Undamaged monster terminated and double terminated Stilbite crystals on matrix.  The largest stilbite bowtie is 10 cm or 4 inches across.  Imagine opening the pocket with these monsters.

White Stilbite and green Apophyllite combination.  The many green Apophyllite crystals are in great shape.

This specimen reminds me of the Russian twinned Calcite.  These seem to be rarer than their Russian cousins.  This specimen is totally gem transparent without any internal cleavage planes and was from a small find in 1998.  There are about 6 small (1 mm ) micro flaws or rough areas to this superb Calcite.

Goosecreekite is a rare zeolite.  Here is a large cabinet sized specimen full of  white clusters of Goosecreekite.

Extra fine cluster of terminated Scolecite crystals.  Tapers down and is about twice as long as shown in the top photo.

Perched on the tip of a Quartz stalactite, here is an undamaged lustrous peach colored Stilbite bowtie.  There are also several other smaller double terminated undamaged Stilbite crystals attached to the Quartz stalactite tip.

The auto color and contrast did not work so well on these.  The actual is closest to the lightest photo.  This is a speicmen with long casts of Prehnite after Laumontite with blocky Apophyllites especially on one side.
