6    7hhjdl  ((CHALCOPHANITE)),  $10 MINIMUM BID, Probably Sterling Hill Mine, Ogdensburg, Sussex County,  New Jersey,  6 x 5 x 4 cm, Miniature,  lustrous Chalcophanite crystals.  The label is from the museum but no location is given.  Mindat.org shows 2 photos of Chalcophanite from Sterling Hill and so I assume it is Sterling Hill rather than Franklin.  The museum has a value of $35 on the old label, so it was a better than average specimen.  This is a specimen from the Franklin Mineral Museum with label.

26    7ghkmg  ((BERYL variety AQUAMARINE)), REPAIRED,  $10 MINIMUM BID, Quadeville, Ontario, Canada, 9 x 9 x 9 cm, Cabinet, Here is a rather large Aquamarine crystal which is hexagonal and amazingly terminated with an unusual pointed terminated.  The top third of the crystal is glued back together.  It has some gaps but is still a very nice  example of this unusual termination.

The Gold Hill Mine has now been closed by the state of Utah with heavy bars blocking underground access while allowing the bats to keep their low rent housing.  There is still access to the above ground collecting areas with permission from the property owner as always.  Rumor has it that it is a company in Chile.

Large Miniature, 5.7 x 4.5 x 3.6 cm

 

A sharply crystallized example of this rare sulfate species, formerly known as Schonite, from a classic locality long abandoned. Minor halite is associated underneath and around the backside. It is, overall, a very attractive miniature. It carries an old label from the Bergakadmemie Freiberg. Sharp and complete all around, very 3-dimensional.
