16   3shn  ((SMITHSONITE with HEMIMORPHITE)),  $1 MINIMUM BID, Hidden Treasure Mine, Ophir District, Tooele County, Utah,  4 x 4 x 4 cm, Miniature, Light blue green botryoidal Smithsonite with some small spherical clusters of acicular crystals of colorless Hemimorphite.

 

 
17    6mc950is  ((1 crystal of TOPAZ)),  $10 MINIMUM BID, Thomas Range, Juab County, Utah,   4.2 x 1.2 x .8 cm,  Large double terminated Topaz crystal.  It is gemmy at the one termination and the other 2/3 of the crystal has Rhyolite inclusions making it opaque.   It is undamaged and lustrous.  The Rhyolite included termination looks like it may have slight cleavage on the multi terminated end which does not make much difference.  This is a large crystal and almost impossible to find without serious digging (a track hoe and explosives would help).  

18      3atdl2731ts  ((HEMIMORPHITE)),  $1 MINIMUM BID, Santa Eulalia, Chihuahua, Mexico,   5.5 x 3.5 x 3 cm,  Here is a different looking Hemimorphite from Santa Eulalia.   It is an older one which came from Diversified Minerals and was reported to be from the collection of Al Branek, an old Utah collector,  although no labels or documentation.

 
19  3shn  ((ROSASITE on AZURITE)),  $10 MINIMUM BID, Hidden Treasure Mine, Ophir District, Tooele County, Utah,  5 x 4.5 x 1.5 cm, Miniature, Nice Hidden Treasure Azurite which was not all that common with spherical Rosasite.  Hidden Treasure now sealed by the state of Utah.  A collector several years ago was killed reportedly horsing around when he fell down a shaft.

21    5mcn  ((QUARTZ variety JASPER pseudomorph after BARITE)),  $10 MINIMUM BID, Moab, Utah,  3.5 x 2.5 x 1.5 cm, Miniature,  This is the same red Jasper that makes up the famous red Dinosaur Bone in the Moah area.  In this case it has replaced Barite forming this pseudomorph.

25    3idad2607nr  ((CALCITE, PYRITE)),  $10 MINIMUM BID, Animon Mine, San Jose de Huayllay, Cerro de Pasco, Pasco, Peru,  8 x 6.5 x 4.5 cm, Cabinet,  Here is an unusual and aesthetic Calcite specimen from Peru.  Undamaged white opaque scalenohedral crystals of Calcite on matrix with minor lustrous Pyrite.

 

26    3idjt2308ir  ((VANADINITE)),  $10 MINIMUM BID, Mibladen, Morocco,  4 x 3 x 2 cm, Miniature,  Superb undamaged floater cluster of red to red orange Vanadinite crystals.  This is one large complex crystal.  I do see two spots that look like may be something missing or broke off flat with the surface.  So techical not cherry undamaged, but you must really be looking.  No dings or chips on the existing crystal structure.   

27   5lucnr  ((KUNZITE)),  $10 MINIMUM BID, Urucum Mine, Minas Gerais, Brazil,  3 x 1.5 x .8 cm, Thumbnail,  Gemmy purple to magenta naturally etched Brazilian Kunzite. 
28    3sw2058is  ((SIDERITE)),  $10 MINIMUM BID, Julcani Mine, Angaraes, Huancavelica, Peru, 4.5 x 3.5 x 2.5 cm, Miniature, Tannish brown crystals of Siderite from Peru.  Specimen is very close to being a floater with almost no apparent attachment.

 

29  5atdbrs  ((NATIVE SILVER)),  $10 MINIMUM BID, Uchucchacua Mine dos de Mayo Province, Lima Department, Peru,   5.5 x 3 x 2.5 cm, Miniature,  This specimen is actually a complex mass of Silver wires.  But they are coated with Quartz making them look like a mass of Quartz worms.  These Worms have a wire Silver in the middle.  I had though about  trying to remove the Quartz with HF or some way else, but I am too busy to get to that.  ex Dave Bunk specimen at $200 with label and was part of the large quantity of flats purchased from Dave 3 Tucsons ago. 

 30   6ddmwe  ((FOSSIL CLAM, CALCITE)),  $10 MINIMUM BID, Rucks Pit, Fort Drum, Okeechobee County, Florida,   9 x 8 x 4 cm, Cabinet,  The clam is Mercenaria sp. Many of these were filled with gemmy golden Calcite.  I think this is mainly a complete Fossil Clam but both halves are intact and have not been opened up.

32  6hetgis ((AGATE GEODE)), $1 MINIMUM BID, Tobasco, Mexico,  2 x 2 x 2 cm, Thumbnail,  Here is a small Agate geode from Tobasco.  It has been cut in half and polished.  They almost resemble a heart shape.  These are used in jewelry and also make neat specimens.  This would make a matching pair of thumbnails.

43   1ecsmns ((RARE PINK MESOLITE with minor LAUMONTITE)), $50 MINIMUM BID, Poona, Maharashtra, India, 9 x 6.5 x 5 cm, Cabinet, Back in 2000 I purchased about 20 specimens of pink Mesolite which I was told was the entire small pocket of specimens.  I have never seen any others on websites or at shows.  I have three left that I know of, one I kept, this one, and one twice this size.  The Laumontite is mostly very fragile and dessicated which is normal for Laumontite.  These sold for $100 to $200 each 5 years ago but there are none around or available except these.

62    6hlkmr ((APATITE)), $10 MINIMUM BID, Renfrew, Ontario, Canada,  6 x 2 x 2 cm, Miniature,  Single crystal of terminated Apatite from Ontario.  There are a few other smaller crystals attached near the bottom half.  Termination is flat with bevels on each of the six sides.
63    5fbmdis  ((GYPSUM variety SELENITE)),  $10 MINIMUM BID, Red River Floodway, Manitoba, Canada, 5.8 x 5.8 x 5.8 cm, Miniature.  This Gypsum spheres are covered with protuding Gypsum crystals which are very fluorescent under UV.  Undamaged except for a couple of minor nicks.  I see two.  These are dug out of the mud and this one was never thoughly cleaned and still has some of the original mud between the Gypsum crystals.

66   5atshiss ((PYRITE, QUARTZ)),  $50 MINIMUM BID, Silver King Mine, Park City, Summit County, Utah,  14 x 10 x 94.5 cm, Large Cabinet,  Here is a large specimen of historic Park City Pyrite.  Some roughness on the edges of the striated cubic Pyrite crystals but overall in good shape.  Hard to come by, this is a large Utah Pyrite specimen.
67    6dwtges ((FLUORITE)), $30 MINIMUM BID, Erongo Mtn, Usakos and Omaruru Districts, Erongo Region, Namibia,  12 x 9 x 6 cm, Cabinet, Undamaged lustrous cubic Fluorite from Namibia.  Sawn base and back.

68  7hljdr  ((APOPHYLLITE on PECTOLITE)),  $10 MINIMUM BID, Millington Quarry, New Jersey, 10 x 8.5 x 3.5 cm, Cabinet,  The outside resembles the outside of the amethyst Brazilian cathedrals.  Only this is filled with radial botryoidal Pectolite cover with colorless Apophyllite crystals.  A little hard to photograph but a neat New Jersey zeolite specimen.

A sharply crystallized example of this rare sulfate species, formerly known as Schonite, from a classic locality long abandoned. Minor halite is associated underneath and around the backside. It is, overall, a very attractive miniature. It carries an old label from the Bergakadmemie Freiberg. Sharp and complete all around, very 3-dimensional.
