Uncommon black mineral Plattnerite on some of the white Hemimorphite crystals from the Hidden Treasure Mine, which is now closed by the state of Utah. .

22    7hljde  ((APOPHYLLITE casts after ANHYDRITE with STILBITE and HEULANDITE)),  $10 MINIMUM BID, Upper New Street Quarry, Paterson, New Jersey, 10 x 4 x 4 cm, Cabinet,  Heres an interesting specimen.  There are Stilbite and Heulandite crystals on the Apophyllite casts after Anhydrite.  The Apophyllite crystals are small and resemble Quartz.  Looping with 10 X the crystals do not look like Quartz and do look like Apophyllite.

All in all it is a reference specimen and not attractive at all.

38  7hlmdis ((ZINCITE, FRANKLINITE, WILLEMITE, CALCITE)), $20 MINIMUM BID, Franklin, Sussex County, New Jersey, 16 x 7.5 x 5 cm, Cabinet,  Here is a fine large Franklin fluorescent specimen.  Good coverage of green fluorescent Willemite and red orange fluorescent Calcite.  Without the fluorescent minerals there is good coverage of the reddish brown Zincite and black Franklinite.  This is an excellent example with or without the UV lamp. 

 

 

 

39  5jmbti ((CELESTINE, BARYOCALCITE, JASPER)), $10 MINIMUM BID, San Rafael Swell, Emery County, Utah, 8 x 5 x 5 cm, Cabinet, Excellent and pretty Jasper Nodule from the San Rafael Swell area. Most of these nodule are not very aesthetic.  5 years ago I hand picked out a few flats from a large lot of these and got a few very nice examples such as this one.

40   8hhjhis ((PINK HALITE)), $10 MINIMUM BID, Great Salt Lake, Tooele County, Utah, 11 x 5 x 1.5 cm, Cabinet,  These were a new find last year.  Pink hoppered Halite crystals from the Great Salt Lake.  Color is from bacteria in the brind ponds which is similar to the other pink Halite location of Searles Lake in California that has been known for many years.

42     5ggg ((PSILOMELANE)), $20 MINIMUM BID, Cerra Do Navio, Amapa, Brazil, 7 x 4 x 4 cm, Cabinet, Undamage knob of Psilomelane from Brazil.  Older specimen from the Gil Griffin collection.

Multiple termination at one end has chipping to the lesser terminations.  The main termination and other end are fine.  One time fine but myself and another dealer whom purchase the two large lots several years ago still have some available.

49    5misc ((GREEN APOPHYLLITE, STILBITE)),  $1 MINIMUM BID, Jalgaon, Maharashtra, India, 11 x 7 x 6.5 cm,  Cabinet, Green Apophyllite and associated Stilbite.  This specimen is not very aesthetic and needs trimming or something.  Still a nice reference specimen.  Apophyllite does not do that well for me when being trimmed.  It tends to cleave and fall off the specimen.  So I am not trying to trim this.  The three green Apophyllite crystals are undamaged while the two near the base, in this case on the right side of the photo are remnants of cleaved crystals.

Very nice specimen.

62    5hhshis ((TETRAHEDRITE, PYRITE, QUARTZ)), $10 MINIMUM BID, Daly Judge Mine, Park City, Utah,  7 x 5 x 3.5 cm, Cabinet,  Most of Pyrite is damaged while there is some nicely formed and undamaged Tetrahedrite crystals.  Tetrahedral from the Daly Judge came out many years ago when Bryan Lees of Collectors edge was just getting started.  He bought the many lot of these Park City Tetrahedrites.  This on came from the collector who still had a few that he had saved.

64   5ggg ((STILBITE)), $10 MINIMUM BID, Jewel Tunnel area, Deccan Traps, India, 5.5 x 5.5 x 3.5 cm, Miniature, Cluster of lustrous cream colored Stilbite sheaves and bowties.  Jewel Tunnel was the first major imported of Indian minerals.  This evidently is one of these that were early on in importing Indian minerals.  Rock Currier chose his company name from this location which he called Jewel Tunnel Inc and Jewel Tunnel area.  Undamaged.   Older specimen from the Gil Griffin collection.

Large Miniature, 5.7 x 4.5 x 3.6 cm

 

A sharply crystallized example of this rare sulfate species, formerly known as Schonite, from a classic locality long abandoned. Minor halite is associated underneath and around the backside. It is, overall, a very attractive miniature. It carries an old label from the Bergakadmemie Freiberg. Sharp and complete all around, very 3-dimensional.
