 1   13hljdis   ((PORTLANDITE)),   $2 MINIMUM BID, Keokuk, Iowa,  3 x 3 x 1.5 cm, Miniature,  I believe the Portlandite is the white tabular crystals which are about 3 or 4 MM or perhaps the white chalky mass in the center.  The label says Porlandite WHITE which would make me think it refers to the white center mass.  Mindat shows tabular crystals but does not show Portlandite from Iowa.  This specimen is from a collection of micros and rare species in miniature sized specimens.  A loop or microscope may be needed to view the actual species, especially crystals if present .

18   13idwdin   ((TRILOBITE Asaphicus wheeleri)),   $10 MINIMUM BID, Wheeler Shale, Millard County, Utah,  2.5 x 3 inches,  The trilobite is 3.5 cm or 1 and 3/8 inch.  This a trilobite that is commercially collected along with the Elrathia kingi.  Asapicus is somewhat more uncommon but not rare by any means.  I

No damage.

 
  24     13hbelis   ((EPIDOTE on QUARTZ)),   $10 MINIMUM BID,  Calvert Hill District, Beaverhead County, Montana,  6.5 x 4.5 x 3 cm, Cabinet,   Here is a specimen with a terminated 3.5 cm Epidote crystal on Quartz from Calvert Hill, Montana.  These look like twinned crystals and also seem to break about down the middle of the crystal lengthwise.  This one shows the crack but it is tight and it does not look like a repair.

  25   13hbmdis   ((SMOKY QUARTZ, MICROCLINE)), $10 MINIMUM BID, Pipestone District, Jefferson County, Montana, 12 x 9.5 x 7 cm, Cabinet,  Here is a specimen with a matrix of Microcline with Smoky Quartz.  The top has small cream color with brown staining Microcline crystal and several larger Smoky Quartz.  the smaller is terminated and the larger has a strange termination.  It is either broker and healed or it may be contract with Microcline.

 28   13hbmdis   ((PYRITE on CALCITE)), $10 MINIMUM BID, Taxco, Guerrero, Mexico, 9 x 8 x 5 cm, Cabinet,  Here is a specimen with scalenohedral crystals of Calcite.  Not pristine but Calcites overall have only minor damage.  Pyrite crystals are lustrous and  2 or 3 cm  and have a multitude of faces on the roundish crystals.

 

29   13hbmdis   ((CALCITE on QUARTZ)), $10 MINIMUM BID, Taxco, Guerrero, Mexico, 9.5 x 5.5 x 5 cm, Cabinet,  Here is a specimen with large terminated Quartz crystals and large blocky rhombs of Calcite covered with a secondary grown of Calcite druze on the Calcite and Quartz.  Some damage on or near the edge but the main body is undamaged.

31   13hbmdis   ((PYRITE on QUARTZ)), $10 MINIMUM BID, Taxco, Guerrero, Mexico, 9 x 7.5 x 4 cm, Cabinet,  Here is an undamaged aesthetic pretty specimen with nearly clusters of small terminated Quartz crystals.  The larger Pyrite crystals have a dark bronze patina while smaller Pyrite clusters are lustrous brassy yellow.
 
 

32     13hbmdis   ((QUARTZ, CALCITE and PYRITE)), $10 MINIMUM BID, Taxco, Guerrero, Mexico, 11 x 8 x 4 cm, Cabinet,,  Here is another neat and varied specimen.  It has a base of  stubby terminated Quartz crystals with large scalenohedral crystals of Calcite.  These crystals have a pinkish tan staining and faces are made up of a multitude of very small faces.  On the Calcite and Quartz are smaller colorless scalenohedral Calcite crystals.  Sprinkled about are octahedral lustrous brassy Pyrite crystals with rounded non sharp edges.  Overall undamaged but again some damage to Quartz and Calcite near or on the edge of the specimen top.

34   11hlkmis   ((COPPER , CALCITE)), $10 MINIMUM BID, Greenstone Quarry, Blue Ridge Summit, Adams County, Pennsylvania,  10 x 5.5 x 4 cm, Cabinet,  Here is a Pennsylvania Copper, uncommon east of the Mississippi.   Matrix is greenstone.  Areas of the greenstone has striated serpentine.  Also the cleaved Calcite rhomb is green from inclusions of Serpentine.  has i, a serpentine, but also has both Quartz and Calcite.     


  

35    13hlkmis   ((FOSSIL FERN)), $10 MINIMUM BID, St Clair,  Pennsylvania, 21 x 12 x 1 cm, Cabinet,  Here is a fossil fern from the Pennsylvanian Age, 300 million years age, and from the Llewellyn formation.  Large fossil ferns on this slate plate.  Fossils on the backside but not as nice.  This specimen has a slight yellow color from iron staining from water seeping between the layers of slate.



 

36   13hlkmis   ((FOSSIL FERN)), $10 MINIMUM BID, St Clair,  Pennsylvania, 29.5 x 15 x 1.2 cm, Cabinet,  Here is a fossil fern from the Pennsylvanian Age, 300 million years age, and from the Llewellyn formation.  Fossil ferns  and large branch on this slate plate.  Only a few fossils on the backside and have alot of rubbing.

38    13jhysis   ((HONEY CALCITE)),   $10 MINIMUM BID, From Utah,  16 x 14 x 5 cm, Cabinet,  A large chunk of golden "Honey Calcite" from Utah.  This is used for lapidary to make cabs for jewelry, book ends, etc.  It is a 5 pound 11 ounze chunk with the top and bottom sawn with a smooth matte finish.

 

39       13jhysis   ((3 DINO BONE)),   $10 MINIMUM BID, Unknown locality,  10, 6, and 6 cm, Cabinet,  Here are 3 pieces of dino bone from an old rock hounds estate probably collected 50 years ago.  The two smaller are small rounds and the third is a fragment with no bone outside surface. 
40    13hhhhis   ((DUNONG FOSSIL VERTEBRAE)),   $10 MINIMUM BID, Florida,  10 x 6 x 4.5 cm, Miniature, Dugong in Florida have been found in age as far back as45 to 50 million years ago.  Manatees evolved about 15 million years ago. 

 
 

 

41    11hhceis   ((GOETHITE pseudomorph after PYRITE)),   $10 MINIMUM BID, Pelican Point Quarry, Utah Lake, Utah County, Utah, 5 x 5 x 4.5 cm, Cabinet,  These pyritahedral pseudos were found west of the original cubic pseudos commercially open pit mined by John Holfert.  This specimen is a floater cluster of crystals totally undamaged except for part of one crystals face missing which is not  new damage and blends right in.  I spotted it with the optivisor.  
42    11hhceis   ((GOETHITE pseudomorph after PYRITE)),   $10 MINIMUM BID, Pelican Point Quarry, Utah Lake, Utah County, Utah, 3. 5 x 3 x 2.5 cm, Miniature,  These pyritahedral pseudos were found west of the original cubic pseudos commercially open pit mined by John Holfert.  This specimen is a cluster of crystals totally undamaged except there is a contact area where other crystals were once joined.  Neat part is that  there is a 4 mm flake missing in this contact area that shows a core of Pyrite.  So on this specimen the Goethite is a rather thin shell with the majority of the specimen still being Pyrite. 
43    11hhceis   ((3 GOETHITE pseudomorph after PYRITE)),   $10 MINIMUM BID, Pelican Point Quarry, Utah Lake, Utah County, Utah, 3 cm, 3 Miniatures,  These pyritahedral pseudos were found west of the original cubic pseudos commercially open pit mined by John Holfert.  Here are 3 similar sized clusters without any damage that I seem with an optivisor.  But these are uncleaned as found.  These were not even washed because much of the clay is nearly a powder and will easier clean up with only a washing but I wanted to leave these as is.  There will also probably be some of the creases that will be a bit harder to remove the clay.  But I do not think these will be anything like the cubic specimens which are a challenge and a half to clean.  The clay on those is very hard to remove even with a water gun.  I think these are a snap with a water gun.  Probably even easy with a toothbrush.  Or keep as is for a contrast.

60      13hljdr   ((8 SHCHERBINAITE)),  $5 MINIMUM BID, Grants, New Mexico,  approx 1 cm pcs,  8 micro Thumbnails,  Shcherminaite is an Vandium oxide.  I looped and seen one large yellow brown acicular crystal.  There are also some vugs which may contain microcrystals.  Label says green which I do not understand.  Mindat says yellow brown and seems to be associated with scoria.

 63    4986 9lkgcirs  ((MARCASITE on FLUORITE)),  Fluorescent LW, SW,   $15 MINIMUM BID, Beihilfe Mine, Halsbrucke, Erzgebirge, Saxony, Germany,  10 x 10 x 4 cm, Cabinet,  Here is a cabinet sized specimen of Fluorite from the old German collection.  There are coloress cubic Fluorite and clusters of Marcasite.  Our local fluorescent guru checked it and it has cream color under SW, and pink and blue under LW ultraviolet.  A great piece for those with only the inexpensive LW lights (black light).
 
   64  8hhmris   ((BARAHONAITE Al)),   $10 MINIMUM BID, Gold Hill Mine, Tooele County, Utah,  7 x 3.5 x 3 cm, Cabinet,  Here is a specimen of the fairly new rare species Barahonaite Al.  Almost and should have been the type locality but a second location in Spain with Barahonaite Fe, got the new mineral work and research completed first.  In Utah, we still think of Gold Hill as the type locality.  
 

65   9lkgcts  ((DOLOMITE WITH CHALCOPYRITE)),   $10 MINIMUM BID, Avant, Garland County, Arkansas,  14 x 7 x 5 cm, Cabinet,  Here is a the first of this style of pinkish saddle back Dolomite specimens I have seen labeled Avant.  H Westenberger collection.  Mindat lists Marion, Lawrence, Hotsprings, and Garland county as having dolomite localities.  Only one in mindat for Garland County is Wilson Springs locality for Miserite.
  
66     aris   ((3 KIMZEYITE aka ZIRCONIUM GARNET)),  TYPE LOCALITY?   $10 MINIMUM BID, Perovskite Hill, Magnet Cove, Arkansas,  3 to 5 MM, 3 Thumbnails,  Here is are three thumbnails ready for perky boxes.  These are a rare variety of Garnet found at Magnet Cove.  Type locality is the Kimzey Calcite Quarry, Magnet Hill, Arkansas.  Perovskite Hill is the same formation as  the Kemzey Calcite Quarry but slightly different locality in Magnet Cove.  ex Clyde Hardin who colllected Perovskite Hill in the 1970s and 1980s.  Several years ago I purchased the bulk of the Clyde Hardin collection and have been selling it at shows for several years.  I did not get most of the Rutile, Kimzeyite, Rutile paramorphs after Brookite, and Brookite into the shows yet concentrating on selling magnetite, perovskite, Quartz, variscite, turquoise, anatase, and Wavellite.  But by volumn 70 to 80 percent of the collection has been sold.
