1   FEATURED ITEM $65 Min Bid -   MANGANOTANTALITE, MnTa2O6,  Arto de Furnas Mine, Equador, Minas Gerais, Brazil,  2 x 2 x 2 cm,  This is thumbnail sized crystal of Manganotantalite which is also Twinned. These are uncommon and not seen very often.  The chemical formula is MnTa2O6

2  FEATURED ITEM $60 Min Bid -  bdnss  DOLOMITE, Unknown localtion,  5.5 x 5.5 x 3 cm, This looks like the famous Spanish Dolomite but the label says unknown location.  This is an excellent Dolomite specimen with large rhombs to 3cm which are undamaged and grouped nicely for display.  Only damage or contact is at the base where it would be mounted for display. 

3  FEATURED ITEM $65 Min Bid -  HEMATITE, Thomas Range, Juab County, Utah,  3.5 x 2 x 2 cm, Superb huge Hematite from the Thomas Range.  It barely fits diagonally into a thumbnail box but could also be stood up for an excellent miniature.  Looks undamaged and lustrous.  Excellent Hematite.

 

4  FEATURED ITEM $55 Min Bid - alts MAGENTA (uncommon color)  IMPERIAL TOPAZ, Rodrigo Silva, Minas Gerais, Brazil,  2 x .9 x .5 cm,  This is a single terminated undamaged classic Topaz cyrstal from Brazil which in the source for Imperial Topaz.  99% of the Imperial Topaz is orange.  Once is a while a purple or magenta colored Topaz crystal will be found.  This is one of the uncommon to rare colors.  It is a magenta. 

5  FEATURED ITEM  $35 Min Bid - dbrs  QUARTZ JAPAN LAW TWIN, PC Mine, Jefferson County, Montana, 3.5 x 3.5 x 2.5 cm,  Here is an excellent small miniature specimen of undamaged terminated Quartz crystals from the PC Mine with a well centered Japan Law Twin. 

 

6 FEATURED ITEM  $175 Min Bid - 9480  RASPBERRY GARNET, Sierra de Cruces, Coahuila, Mexico,  13.5 x 7 x 5.5 cm,  Here is a large cabinet specimen loaded with beautiful rose colored "Raspberry Garnets" from Mexico.   They contrast well with the lighter matrix and also are fluorescent. Largest single crystals are up to 1.3 cm across. 

 

7 FEATURED ITEM  $50 Min Bid - 404  APOPHYLLITE, Jalgaon, Maharashtra, India,  5 x 4 x 3 cm,  Here is an exceptionally aesthetic classic Indian Apophyllite.  The crystal is undamaged, glassy and perfectly perched on a terminated Quartz stalactite with several other smaller Apophyllite crystals.  This is a choice Indian specimen.  
8  FEATURED ITEM $200 Min Bid - 1978 RUTILE on HEMATITE, Ibitiara, Bahia, Brazil,  5 x 4 x 1.5 cm,  Choice miniature specimen with golden Rutile pretruding from a larger Hematite crystal.  This is an old specimen and not from the finds of the last several years.

10 FEATURED ITEM $150 Min Bid -  1736 SILVER, Uchucchacua Mine, Lima Department, Peru,  2.5 x 2 x 1.5 cm,  Very fine thumbnail sized Silver specimen from Peru.  This is an old specimen and not from the finds several years ago.  Many thick wires of Silver emerge from the white matrix.  Also mounted on a removable clear plastic block for display outside the perky box.
11 FEATURED ITEM $150 Min Bid -  PINK SMITHSONITE, Choix, Sinaloa, Mexico,  10 x 5 x 3 cm,  Cabinet  specimen of thick (1.3 to 2.3 cm thick) pink lustrous Mexican Smithsonite. 

12 FEATURED ITEM  $45 Min Bid - 882/2732  GREEN APOPHYLLITE, Jalgaon, Maharashtra, India,  4.5 x 4 x 3.5 cm,  Here is a classic Indian green Apophyllite.  This specimen has the Apophyllite with the flat terminations.  These are undamaged and not cleaved terminations.  This is a more unusual form of Apophyllite.  The crystal is surrounded with terminated Stilbite crystals.  The entire specimen is a choice miniature with no damage.
13 FEATURED ITEM $100 Min Bid - dbts BENT QUARTZ with ZUNYITE and SERICITE, Vita Grande claim (near Quartzite), La Paz county, Arizona,  5.5 x 3.5 x 2 cm,  The label did not mention it but there may be Zunyite and /or Sericite present also.  Here is a very unusual miniature.  The Quartz crystals growth shows that the crystal is BENT by about 30 degrees. I've never heard or seen these before.  The specimen is undamaged and is a superb miniature.

14 FEATURED ITEM $125 Min Bid - 507  PYROMORPHITE, Les Farges Mine, Ussel, Massif Central, Correze Department, France,  6 x 3.5 x 3.5 cm,  Here is a classic French Pyromorphite.  Mustard yellow tipped light olive green Pyromorphite crystals on a massive Barite matrix.

15 FEATURED ITEM  $50 Min Bid - 882  HEULANDITE, Jalgaon, Maharashtra, India,  6.5 x 4 x 3.5 cm,  Here is a classic Indian Heulandite.  This is an aesthetic undamaged choice specimen.  The Heulandite is pearl colored and lustrous.  It displays perfectly.

16 FEATURED ITEM $60 Min Bid - dbiss   MALACHITE pseudomorph after AZURITE, Tsumeb, Namibia,  6.5 x 4.5 x 3 cm,  Here is an excellent undamaged miniature.  This needs to be viewed with a loop to appreciate.  Also there are a couple of other minerals present.  One is a dark yellow green and the other is a blue green.  Neat specimen.

 

 
17  CALCITE, Clark's Cave circa 1950, Millboro Springs, Bath County, Virginia, 11 x 8 x 5 cm,  A beautiful white undamaged cave formation of Calcite.  Collection about 1950. 

18   tg PINK FLUORITE, Mina Navidad, Durango, Mexico, 14 x 10 x 9 cm,  A cabinet sized specimen of undamaged octahedral pink Fluorite.  This specimen has an unusual large compound octahedral Fluorite crystal stickly up from the matrix.  This is an interesting and aesthetic specimen.  I was going to save this one, but here it is.   

19  ZINCITE, Poland's Zinc Furnaces, 12 x .6 x .6 cm,  Long thin yellow green terminated Zincite crystal from the Polish smelters that had problems causing these Zincites to crystallize.

 

20 lmiss  CASSITERITE, CLEVELANDITE, MUSCOVITE, Linopolis, Divino das Laranjeiras, Minas Gerais, Brazil,  15 x 9 x 9 cm,  This large cabinet sized specimen displays perfectly.  Large plates of Muscovite Mica and white platey crystals of Clevelandite make up the matrix for a large cluster of black lustrous Cassiterite crystals.  All in all in great shape.  The black lustrous Cassiterite is twinned as shown.

22 PYROMORPHITE, Yang Shao, Gulin, Guangxi Province, China,  1.5 x 1 x 3 cm,  Green Chinese Pyromorphite thumbnail.  Main crystal is undamaged and terminated.  Smaller side crystals have termination damage.

30   mwo FLUORESCENT FLUORITE, Rogerley Mine, Weardale, Durham, England,  8 x 7 x 3 cm,  Here is an undamaged cabinet sized specimen with  green Fluorite crystals, some covered with a Quartz druze.  These are so Fluorescent that even sunlight changes the color to a dark bluish green. 

 
31   PYROMORPHITE, Yang Shao, Gulin, Guangxi Province, China,  1.5 x 1.5 x 1 cm,  Yellow green Chinese Pyromorphite thumbnail.  Main crystal is undamaged and terminated.  The crystal formation is almost leaf like. 

32 dbts  CALCITE, Unknown location, 8 x 6 x 4 cm,  Interesting undamaged Calcite cabinet sized specimen.  Location in not known.

33 TERMITE, WINGED TERMITE, FLY in AMBER (COPAL), Columbia, South America,   4.5 x 3 x .4 cm,  Small piece of polished Copal which is the more recent form of Amber.  Amber is mostly from the Baltic and Copal is from Columbia and Dominican Republic.  This specimen has a a termite, winged termite, and a fly.  

34  INSECTS in AMBER (COPAL), Columbia, South America,   3.5 x 3 x .5 cm,  Small piece of polished Copal which is the more recent form of Amber.  Amber is mostly from the Baltic and Copal is from Columbia and Dominican Republic.  This specimen has several types of insects.  The amber also has a large chip (1.5 cm) out of the backside as seen in the upper right of the full photo. 

35 WINGED TERMITE/ANT in AMBER (COPAL), Columbia, South America,   5.5 x 3 x 1.5 cm,  Small piece of polished Copal which is the more recent form of Amber.  Amber is mostly from the Baltic and Copal is from Columbia and Dominican Republic.  This specimen has a large 1.3 cm winged termite/ant and several minute insects.

 

36  INSECT in AMBER (COPAL), Columbia, South America,   7 x 4.5 x 1.5 cm,  Medium sized piece of polished Copal which is the more recent form of Amber.  Amber is mostly from the Baltic and Copal is from Columbia and Dominican Republic.  This specimen has some kind of a neat bug with great wing veining detail and several other minute knat like bugs.

 

37  WINGED TERMITES in AMBER (COPAL), Columbia, South America,   9 x 3 x 1 cm,  Medium piece of polished Copal which is the more recent form of Amber.  Amber is mostly from the Baltic and Copal is from Columbia and Dominican Republic.  This specimen has a neat .5 cm insects and several other minute knat like bugs.

38 TERMITES, MILLIPEDE in AMBER (COPAL), Columbia, South America,   9 x 5.5 x 3.5 cm,  Large and thick piece of polished Copal which is the more recent form of Amber.  Amber is mostly from the Baltic and Copal is from Columbia and Dominican Republic.  This specimen has several termites and what I believe is a curled up millipede.  The amber is thick and photographing is a little difficult.

 

39    TERMITES in AMBER (COPAL), Columbia, South America,   8 x 5 x 2 cm,  Medium piece of polished Copal which is the more recent form of Amber.  Amber is mostly from the Baltic and Copal is from Columbia and Dominican Republic.  This specimen has several termites and several hollow tubes through the amber giving it an interesting appearance.

4dbar GREEN QUARTZ on CALCITE, level 12, San Antonio El Grande Mine, San Antonio, Chihuahua, Mexico,  5.5 x 5 x 2 cm,  ex Dan Belcher collection.  Miniature green terminated stubby Quartz crystals on white Calcite. 

 

 

43    dbrs SMOKEY QUARTZ, Blue Sky Prospect, Santa Cruz, Sonora, Mexico,  6.5 x 4.5 x 3 cm,    ex Dan Belcher collection.  Beautiful cluster of undamaged terminated Smokey Quartz crystals.  Great miniature from an uncommon Mexican location.

44   dbar QUARTZ pseudomorph after BARITE, O S Pocket, Ouray Colorado. Gold Lakes Mine, Little Giant Basin, San Juan County, Colorado,  6 x 5 x 3.5 cm,  This is a large miniature of this Colorado pseudomorph.  There is a narrow hollow slit which was once the Barite which has been replaced by Quartz. No damage and this is terminated on the three sides.  This is a very fine specimen of Quartz ps. Barite.

45   HEMATITE, Diamantina, Minas Gerais, Brazil,  3 x 2 x 1.5 cm,  Here is a exceptional thumbnail sized Brazilian Hematite.  Crystals are undamaged with mirrow luster.  It is a set of paralled plates of hexagonal Hematite crystals.  a

 

46  iss   EPIDOTE, Northern Frontier District, Kenya,  5.5 x 4.5 x 1.5 cm,  Here is cluster of dark green lustrous terminated Epidote  crystals on a matrix of smaller Epidote crystals.  From the one time find several years ago. 

47   METATORBERNITE, Cu(UO2)2(PO4)2.8H2O, Margabal, Eutrayques, Aveyron, France, 1 x 1 x 1 cm,  Here is a thumbnail sized specimen of this green micaceous Uranium mineral.

48     GROSSULAR GARNET, Coahuila, Coahuila, Mexico,  3 x 3 x 2 cm,  Here is a lustrous undamaged tan colored complete floater Grossular Garnet crystal.  It is thumbnail sized and just fits into a perky box.  Also is mounted on a flat plastic base.

49 sw FOSSIL FISH, Lycoptera species, Jurassic, Lycoptera Layers, Liaoning Province, China, fish is 7.5 cm length on slab 11 x 7 x .3 cm, Here is a complete fossil fish from Dinosaur times.  The fish is on a plate which is a little larger than the fish itself.

50   PYROMORPHITE, Wheatley Mine, Phoenixville, Chester County, Pennsylvania,  8 x 6 x 3 cm,  This is a classic old Pyromorphite location.  Small green Pyromorphite crystals on the front and backside of specimen. 

51   dbts CHALCOPYRITE with PYRITE and SPHALERITE, Eagle Mine, Gilman District, Eagle County, Colorado,  8.5 x 4 x 3.5 cm,  Here is a floater group of mainly Chalcopyrite crystals.  Minor edge wear/ roughness but overall in great condition.

 
52  sw FOSSIL FISH and PLANT, Lycoptera species, Jurassic, Lycoptera Layers, Liaoning Province, China, fish is 7.5 cm length on slab 17 x 15 x .5 cm, Here is a complete fossil fish from Dinosaur times.  The fish is somewhat ventral view instead of sideways.   The fish is on a plate with some type of plant.  They do not quite look like pine needles.  The plant is on a different level layer than the fish.

53 cl  QUARTZ STALACTITE with minor STILBITE, Jalgaon, Maharashtra, India, 9.5 x 5 x 2.5 cm, Cabinet sized terminated and undamaged Quartz stalactite. Terminated small Quartz crystals completely cover the stalactite. 

 

54  bu05t  BORNITE with QUARTZ, Butte, Montana, 8 x 3 x 3 cm,  Here is a specimen of Bornite on white terminated Quartz with minor Pyrite.

55    bu05o  BETEKHTINITE with QUARTZ, Butte, Montana, 4 x 3.5 x 2.5 cm,  Here is a specimen of dark blackish Betekhtinite which is uncommon to rare at Butte with associated Quartz.  Betekhtinite is a Copper, Iron, Antimony Sulfide.

 

56 1333  TENNANTITE, Steward Mine, Butte, Montana, 3 x 2 x 1.5 cm,  Here is a fine scultural thumbnail of lustrous grey Tennantite from the Steward Mine in historic Butte. 

57  dbiss  SCHEELITE with TOURMALINE, Sonora, Mexico,  5.5 x 3 x 3 cm,  Not the most beautiful but under the Fluorescent shortwave the entire specimen is obvious Scheelite or have a Scheelite coating and is fluorescent blue white,  The Tourmaline must be the dark brown crystals.  This was from the Dave Bunk lot and was valued at $100.

59  dbts   MELANITE GARNET, San Benito County, California,  4 x 3 x 2 cm,  This is a miniature sized specimen of black Melanite Garnet on a contrasting matrix from San Benito. 

 

60   dbts  PYRITE on CALCITE, Potosi Mine, Santa Eulalia, Chihuahua, Mexico,   5 x 3.5 x 2 cm,  Here is a fine undamaged Pyrite on contrasting white Calcite from Mexico. 

61  dbts  SPHALERITE, Illinois,  4.5 x 3 x 1.5 cm,  Fine miniature sized specimen of a lustrous undamaged Sphalerite from Illinois.

62    dbts  ARSENOPYRITE with QUARTZ, level 13, San Antonio El Grande Mine, San Antonio, Chihuahua, Mexico,  3 x 2 x 1.5 cm, This fine specimen miniature looks like a Dan Belcher specimen.  It is a great combination specimen with white terminated Quartz crystals and large lustrous silvery Arsenopyrite crystals. 

 
63  dbes  QUARTZ with ORTHOCLASE, $1 OPENING BID,  Unknown location,  3.5 x 3 x 3 cm, This fine specimen miniature looks like it may be from Pakistan.  The Quartz crystals look like faden Quartz and the Feldspar crystals are white and sharp and lustrous.  I have seen similar specimens from Pakistan.

64 dbar  FLUORITE with ARSENOPYRITE and CALCITE, San Martin Mine, San Martin, Zacatecas, Mexico, 4 x 3 x 2 cm, This miniature is a fine combination.  Purple Fluorite in a sort of octahedral crystal with silvery Arsenopyrite separated by white contrasting Calcite.

 

65   alts IMPERIAL TOPAZ, Rodrigo Silva, Minas Gerais, Brazil,  2.7 x 1 x .8 cm,  This is a single terminated orange colored undamaged classic Topaz cyrstal from Brazil which in the source for Imperial Topaz.  The weight is 5 grams.

66 91 GREEN TOURMALINE variety UVITE, Brumado Mine, Bahia, Brazil,  2.4 x 2.3 x 1 cm,  This is a large green double terminated lustrous Uvite crystal. It is undamaged except for one small ding on the edge.  Uvites are disc shaped which large terminations compared to the short stubby crystal length.

67   alts RED TOURMALINE variety UVITE, Brumado Mine, Bahia, Brazil,  1.5 x .7 x .7 cm,  This is a red lustrous Uvite crystal. It is undamaged except for the top of the crystal stack.  Red Uvite have a different crystal habit than the Green variety.  Red Uvite tend to grow in stacks of crystals end to end forming what looks like a stalactite of crystals.  Red Uvites are also much more uncommon than the green variety.

68 alls BRAZILIANITE, Linopolis, Minas Gerais, Brazil,  3 x 2 x 1.2 cm,  This is a single lustrous yellow green terminated undamaged Brazilianite crystal.

69   COQUIMBITE, Dexter Mine, Emery County, Utah,  1.2 x 1 x .6 cm,  Single crystal of this uncommon phosphate.  The state of Utah is closing mines and this one may be already closed if not, I am sure its on the list.  Access to Utah localities is coming to an end in many of the old mines.
70  HOLFERTITE, Thomas Range, Juab County, Utah,   2 x 2 x 1 cm,  Here is a cluster of sherry Topaz crystal on matrix with a bonus.  The new mineral Holfertite is also present.  Two smll yellow straws of Holfertite are attached to one of the Topaz crystals.  You need a loop to see them.   Note:  I was not able to photo this time.  Under a loop its easy to see.  Photographing, I try to guess that its in focus and I am at the right angle.  Then hope that the photo magnifies the image. This time it did not work.

 

 

71  GALENA, SPHALERITE, Burgin Mine, Tintic District, Utah, 2.5 x 2 x 1.5 cm,  Here is a thumbnail specimen from the historic Tintic Mining District in Utah.  Old Tintic specimens seem to be uncommon and come from old collections.

 

72  PYRITE, Leonard Mine, Butte, Montana,   2 x 2 x 1.5 cm,  Here is a thumbnail specimen of lustrous octahedral Pyrite from the famous Leonard Mine in Butte.  The Leonard also produced wonderful Covellite specimens.  Octahedral Pyrite from Butte, like Covellite is also getting harder and harder to find.   

73  AZURITE ROSETTE, $1 OPENING BID,Hanover Mine, Grant County, New Mexico, 1 x 1.8 x 1.5 cm,  A blue crystal of Azurite with minor green Malachite in a thumbnail size. 

74  GOLD in QUARTZ, Harvard Open Pit Mine, Jamestown, California, 1.5 x .9 x .6 cm,  Here is a thumbnail sized Gold which is professionally mounted on a pedestal on a plastic block which came be removed from the perky box.

75   SCALENOHEDRAL HEMATITE,  Arzanah Island, near Abu-Dhabi, United Arab Emirates,  1 cm in length Here is a thumbnail with a black lustrous Hematite crystal.  The crystal is a very interesting form.  a double terminated scalenohedron.  This is very unusual for Hematite.  My understanding is that collecting is not allowed and these were collected and brought out in the sock of an oil worker.  There may be more on the remote island but good luck getting them.

FOSSIL FISH

 
76  AZURITE GEODE,  Miami, Arizona,   1.5 x 1 x 1 cm,  Here is an Azurite geode which has been cracked in two to reveal a small hollow center filled with a druze of Azurite crystals. 

   
77  TENNANTITE pseudomorph after ENARGITE, Julcani Mine, Peru,  2.5 x 2 x 1.5 cm,  Here is a fine thumbnail specimen of this pseudomorph that came out of Peru about 5 years ago.  There are a couple of intergrown crystals.  The larger crystal is terminated and undamaged.  The smaller crystal has a damaged termination.  The sides are lustrous. Its a large thumbnail sized pseudomorph. 

 

 
   
78  tgnn  MALACHITE on CHRYSOCOLLA, Shaba Province, Zaire,   11 x 7 x 2.5 cm,  Here is a fine specimen of dark green crystalline Malachite on robin egg blue Crysocolla which forms a contrasting frame around the dark Malachite.  tgr  SULFUR, El Desierto Mine, Bolivia,  7 x 6 x 3.5 cm,  Bright yellow Sulfur crystals on matrix from Bolivia. 
  buis GYPSUM variety SELENITE,  Red River Floodway, Manitoba, Canada, 11 x 8 x 6 cm, This specimen is a large cabinet sized Canadian Selenite.  The crystals are a dark amber color.  There is only a very small amount of minor damage.  Overall in great shape. 
79 tgg  FLUORITE, Okarusa, Namibia,   6.5 x 5 x 4 cm,  Light translucent green cubic Fluorite from Namibia in a miniature sized specimen.

FEATURED ITEM $30 Min Bid -  cl  QUARTZ STALACTITE with minor STILBITE, Jalgaon, Maharashtra, India, 9.5 x 4 x 3.5 cm, Cabinet sized terminated and undamaged Quartz stalactite.   A few small Stilbite crystals are on the stalactite, one of the Stilbite cyrstals has a broken tip.  this is an interesting sculptural specimen.
bu THREE specimens of Fluorescent GYPSUM, Red River Floodway, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, largest is 6 x 6 x 5.5 cm,  Here is a set of 3 Fluorescent Gypsum  crystal nodules from the well known Canadian location.  They are undamaged and are actual three different colors: clear, orangish yellow, and light yellow. 50 mc RED BERYL, Violet Claims, Wah Wah Mtns, Beaver County, Utah,  2 x .6 x .7 mm,  Double terminated hexagonal crystal of Red Beryl from the famous Rex Harris Violet Claims.  This crystal has alot of rhyolite inclusions.  The crystal has one  .5 x .5 cm area at the one termination of better Red Beryl without the included rhyolite.  Photos should show the specimen. The claim was sold several years ago and the buyers defaulted on payments.  The claim is back with the Harris's but has been reclaimed by the state and so is not being mined. 
 

sw FOSSIL FISH and PINE NEEDLES, Lycoptera species, Jurassic, Lycoptera Layers, Liaoning Province, China, fish is 7 cm length on slab 19 x 13 x .5 cm, Here is a complete fossil fish from Dinosaur times.  The fish is on a plate with what looks like a spray of fossil pine needles and one single needle by the fish.

 

22 mc RED BERYL, Violet Claims, Wah Wah Mtns, Beaver County, Utah,  9 x 6 x 5 mm,  red lustrous terminated hexagonal prism formed Red Beryl from the famous Rex Harris Violet Claims.  One of the 6 corners of the termination is missing and looks like it may have been a contact.  It is not glassy like a ding or damage would look.  The claim was sold several years ago and the buyers defaulted on payments.  The claim is back with the Harris's but has been reclaimed by the state and so is not being mined. 
BUGS in AMBER (COBAL), Columbia, South America,   11 x 3.5 x 2.5 cm,  Large piece of polished Cobal which is the more recent form of Amber.  Amber is mostly from the Baltic and Cobal is from Columbia and Dominican Republic.  This specimen has many insects.  The largest are the winged ants (termites) and extra detached wings showing lots of detail.  There is also what looks like a large fly.  With a loop, I think I also see a mosquito, spider but they are hard to find.  Who knows what else among the few extra legs here and there.
