11hljdr ((RHODOCHROSITE)), $20 MINIMUM BID, Pachapaqui District, Ancash Department, Peru, 13.5 x 6 x 5.5 Cabinet | |
Here is a pretty pink Rhodochrosite from Pachapaqui. It has geometric shapes with marks that look like they have been cut in with a knife. These are actually left by another bladed mineral crystals, perhaps Calcite, that the Rhodochrosite grew on and between the blades. Then the blades were later dissolved by nature leaving the strange and interesting shapes. These strange cut like formations are also found in some Russian Quartz specimens. |
