18idmris   ((FLEXIBLE SANDSTONE)),  $5 MINIMUM BID,   North Carolina,  10 x 4 x .7 cm, Cabinet




It flexs up and down.  Over flex or force will cause is to break in two pieces.  I also held on end flat on a desk and it flexs 5 mm up and 5 mm down.  This unusual sandstone has its sand grains joined with a micaeous cement giving the flexibility.  circa 1950 to 1960.  I just acquired in Denver from a retired dealers old stock that he just found.  Possibly if cut length wise into two pieces would enhance the flexibility.   1 and 2 listing are the last two small specimen
