2cgxt.as   ((COPAL  with MOTH, COCKROAH, FLIES, ETC.  47.5 gm)), ,  $45 MINIMUM BID,   Andes Mtns, Columbia,  9.5 x 5.5 x 1.5 cm, Cabinet

Large polished Cobal specimen from Columbia which weighs 47.5 gm.  Age is Pleistocene to Pliocene.   Uncommon large moth and lots of others insects within the Cobal.  Wholesale prices for polished Copal has gone up in the past 20 years.  Cobal polished but surface is a bit crackling not seen with the photos from sun coming in a window at a show, with common flies and knats was $3 to $5 a grams a couple of years ago.  Large opaque unpolished Cobal chunks needing polishing are less.  But you never know what is inside.  I would spend hours going through large quanities of polished pieces to try to find a few of the more uncommon pieces with Spiders, moths, crickets, etc leaving the common flies, ants, knats, wasps, and termites, and no insects at all.
