An uncommon and rare occurrance that was collected by Jim Minette in the settling ponds west of the Open Pit Mine in Boron.  This is a hydrous sodium sulfate.  The delicate crystals typically are sharp and can be hoppered but are very lightweight almost like styrofoam.  There are 7 photos on mindat.org under Thenardite, Boron. This undamaged and terminated specimen was coated to preserve it. Thumbnail sized specimen for the TN collections,  ex Jim Minette collection.
