13btcers ((CRANDALITE, WARDITE, VARISCITE)), $100 MINIMUM BID, Little Green Monster Mine, Fairfield, Clay Canyon, Utah County, Utah,  11 x 8 x 4 cm, Cabinet

Here is a Utah classic. It is a nodule end cut and is 4 cm thick. Clay Canyon is known worldwide for its rare phosphate mineral and Variscite nodules. This one has yellow Crandalite and blue grey Wardite veins and small eyes. There is also a fair amount of green Variscite. The most desired are the dark green Variscite nodules and also very pricey. One at the Tucson gem and mineral show brought $24500! The Crandalite and Wardite nodules are also very desirable from this classic Utah locality. The rarer phosphates need a microscope to find and identify in the small vugs contained in these nodules. I do not know is any of these are present or not. See mindat.org for specimen example of these nodules and rare phosphate minerals. This one is sawn and smooth but not polished.
