 | From the Gil Griffin collection. This is not the most aesthetic specimen. It is a huge Calcite with copper from Michigan. Some parts of the Calcite which are most visible do not have Copper inclusions. Probably half the specimen is Copper included Calcite but those areas also have oxidized Native Copper on the outside of the specimen blocking the view. Still Copper included Calcite is visible in several areas of the large Calcite crystal. No big cleaves or major damage to the Calcite although some of the edges and tips are rough in places. This a fine example of OLD Michigan Calcite and Copper combo with Copper inclusions. |
