_small.jpg) | I do not know how this is done. I have not looked into the procedure. This is an example of Chinese manmade labgrown Quartz variety Amethyst. I just goggled it and it said Chinese synthetic Amethyst and synthetic green Quartz are grown from a fluoride solution. This specimen looks like they used a regular Quartz cluster as a seed crystal base and grew dark purple termination extensions onto the existing quartz terminations.
