7atkrrs ((SMITHSONITE CASTS? after QUARTZ?)), $40 MINIMUM BID, Tsumeb Mine, Namibia, 11 x 8.5 x 5.5 cm, Cabinet,

This is part of the large lot of 80 flats of Tsumeb specimens purchased from Kristalle last year at the beginning of Tucson. These were not labeled as of the minerals. Ex Uri Bahamm collection. So the ID is a guess on my part. I am guessing the the thick coating is Smithsonite. At one time this thick coating had hexagonal shaped crystals protruding from it. Perhaps these were Quartz or just as easily some other hexagonal shaped mineral. Now only hexagonal voids are left. Minor green Malachite and a light blue mineral lay upon the coating of Smithsonite.
