4992 00atadar ((TETRAHEDRITE, QUARTZ, SPHALERITE)), $25 MINIMUM BID, Casapalca Mine, Huarochiri Province, Lima Department, Peru, 10 x 8.5 x 4 cm, Cabinet | |
The Tetrahedrites have a golden sheen, which does not shown up well in the photos, from a thin coating of Chalcopyrite. This specimen is totally undamaged which is uncommon with Tetrahedrite crystals being a bit soft and easily damaged in mining and recovering specimens. This specimen is from the last great Tetrahedrite find in Peru about 15 years ago. |
