Here is a specimen of the typical two generations of Calcite from the Buffalo Mine. White small Calcite crystals over the larger scalenohedral white crystals with a dark brown outer edge. Underside shows the large Calcite crystals with the white inside and dark brown outer edges. In fact many only have the outer brown edges left having the white interiors pull away during collecting.
