7atkrls ((MIMETITE with COPPER pseudo after CUPRITE)), $40 MINIMUM BID, Tsumeb Mine, Namibia, 8 x 8 x 2.5 cm, Cabinet

This is part of the large lot of 80 flats of Tsumeb specimens purchased from Kristalle last year at the beginning of Tucson. These were not labeled as of the minerals. Ex Uri Bahamm collection. So the ID is a guess on my part. Not much guessing on the Mimetite. Rounded sheaf like yellow crystals with a matte luster. A little guess is the small dark crystals lightly peppering some areas of the Mimetite. Looping them with 10 x and some other similar specimens suggest the copper colored crystals are perhaps Copper pseudomorphs after Cuprite. Probably a microscope will be required since they are still a little small looking with a loop. Looping shows some of the Mimetite crystals damaged but probably an area of at least half the specimen is totally undamaged.
