ex University of Utah Geology Department, The U is reducing its collections and concentrating on keeping Utah specimens due to a move to a new building next year. Large and HEAVY specimen consisting of a matrix of a solid cluster of Galena crystals with both Octahedral and Cubic crystals. The voids between the Galena crystals has filled with Dolomite. The front of the specimen has a druze of small Dolomite crystals. Perched on the Dolomite is a cluster of large terminated and double terminated golden Nailhead Calcite crystals. These are lustrous and mostly damage free with only minor brusing. The sides or peripherals of the main cluster of Calcite has some cleavage damage but the main crystals are the damage free ones. The main crystals is double terminated. |
