_small.jpg) | Extraordinary Great Salt Lake Halite specimen with character. This has the shape of a giant mushroom cap. The one side is eccentually flat and the other a flattened hemisphere. I think the flat side is more interesting. It has an imprint of a round rock that the Halite grew over and then the pebble or larger rock was left or came out later. There is no other attachment and so it may have been a cap perched on a larger rock and then popped of to collect. ex Dana Wilson MD collection #737. |
