8uu ((AZURITE)), $10 MINIMUM BID, Flambeau Mine, Ladysmith, Rusk County, Wisconsin, 6.5 x 3 x 3 cm, Miniature

The Flambeau Mine is famous for its worldclass Chalcocite specimens. Operated by Kennecott for only a few years and now reclaimed, Casey Jones was awarded collecting rights for these superb Chalcocites. Needless to say other associated minerals were not collected because of the time factor. A University of Utah professor got to visit the Flambeau during its operation and just happened to collect several Azurite specimens. Although not world class, the Azurite specimens are much more a rarity now than the Chalcocites which have climbed in value. Here is a chance to acquire one of these Azurites. I do not know if any more will be available. It depends on the Geology Departments decision on what to deassess. This is a specimen that won't currently be found in many if any other collections. ex University of Utah Geology Department.
