14hhceis   ((GYPSUM variety SELENITE))   $10 MINIMUM BID, Great Salt Lake, Tooele County, Utah,  6 x 5.5 x 5 cm, Miniature

Here is a neat Gypsum specimen from the Great Salt Lake.  These are the classic Gypsum crystals from  the Great Salt Lake but are almost always single twinned or non twinned flat crystals.  These were collected by a local mineral collector within the last year or so.  The singles collected during the last 10 years seem to have a major problem of splitting in half during cleaning with water.  This past year a small find of these clusters were found.  Good thing is that they are able to be cleaned without loosing 85% to splitting during cleaning like the singles.  Very few if any of the clusters are lost to cleaning.   This one is undamaged except for a small part of the one crystal at the bottom.  I can not tell if this is new or an old damage being found this way.  Aesthetic and displays well.  I just recently got a few from a local trade.
