_small.jpg) | I have seen these described as Hematite after Marcasite and Goethite after Marcasite. The same looks to be listed as Hematite and Goethite in the mindat listings with more as Goethite. There used to be alot of these about 20 years ago. Not seen for sale much anymore. This on and the other specimen of a different form are unusual in that they are not damaged. The majority have damage with missing arms. Damage usually seen appears to be prior to pseudomorphing. This specimen has not damage and was hand picked from many that were damaged at the time by me and sold to Don in March of 2004 at one of the local Salt Lake shows. These I notice if for sale and prices seem to be $250 to #375 for the undamged and $125 to $175 for the damaged specimen missing an arm or two or three that I saw two years ago at the West Springfield show. ex Don Fratto collection. |
