_small.jpg) | Undamaged excellent crystal form. These first turned up in Tucson about 2001 as a major find. There were4 eight foot tables with them spread out crystal to crystal with no boxes. Thumbnails were $50, miniatures $250 and cabinets $500 to $2500. Cash only sales. The dealer collector said he had been looking for the source for many years. One initial Tucson and he sold enough to put his son though College. He was running down to the motel safe almost every hour. Many if not most dealers bought many. The hoppered lusttrous crystals from this new find were very appearling. Over the next few years prices softened This one would have been $150 to #250 at the initial offereing there in the top floor of the executive inn annex buiilding. Don purchased this one from Costigan Minerals. I still have several from my original purchase including a couple of large cabinet specimens, having sold the best specimen. ex Don Fratto collection |
