Note: Fine Cinnabar specimens should be stored in the dark. Light and heat causes the surface of the Cinnabars to develop a silver film of mercury. This is why very few Cinnabar specimens have the ruby red crystals. This silvery film is not as desirable as the ruby red crystals. |
