7hhjhir ((HALITE on SELENITE)), $10 MINIMUM BID, Great Salt Lake, Tooele County, Utah, 13 x 10 x 6 cm, Cabinet, | |
This is from an older find 10 years ago. Cubic Halite crystals totally cover a Gypsum specimen where the Gypsum grew on a twig from rabbit brush submerged within the Great Salt Lake. Then cubic Halite crystallized. A rain which changes the immediate salinity of the lake causes this type of specimen to redissove into the lake. So there is a small window to collect Halite specimens from the lake. |
