5btad.iss ((GYPSUM)), Fluorescent, $75 MINIMUM BID, Las Salinas de Paracas, Pisco, Ica Department, Peru, 10.5 x 6 x 5.5 cm, Cabinet | |
Excellent lustrous undamaged twinned Selenite crystals from Peru. Very Fluorescent under UVSW. These came out about 15 years ago. Very colorful. Better in person. Undamaged with no cleaves on the crystal edge, which is unusual. Most have the typical Gypsum cleaved edges. This on is pristene. Do not soak or wash in water as these come from a Salt Mine and the matrix which does not look like Salt probably contains Halite and may dissolve or break apart. Also Gypsum is normally not cleaned with an ultrasonic cleaner as it typically will dull the superb luster |
