13hbmdis ((EPIDOTE)), $1 MINIMUM BID, Calvert Mine, Pipestone District, Beaverhead County, Montana, 3.7 x 2 x 1.3 cm, Miniature, | |
After the Butte show I bought several flats of Montana minerals from a retired digger. These have not been cleaned. Here is a specimen of Smoky Quartz with Microcline. Generally Epidote crystals from this location appear to be single terminated crystals. Other have a V on the termination and appear to be twins. They also seem to have vertical cleavage and many split or are partially split vertically. This one is one that looks like a non twin and has no split. One edge has some damage as shown in photo. |
