9dhuu ((AZURITE)),  $10 MINIMUM BID, Flambeau Mine, Ladysmith, Rusk County, Wisconsin, 7 x 4.5 x 3 cm, Cabinet, U of U Specimen

The Flambeau was an extremely high grade but small open pit Copper mine operated by Kennecot. It only operated a few years and has since been exhausted and reclaimed. World class Chalcocite specimens were found and allowed by Kennecot to be collected and preserved as mineral specimens. Geoprime Minerals aka Casey Jones and his wife got the rights and contract to extract the world class Chalcocite specimens. Not more valuable but more uncommonly preserved were any associated minerals at this small location about the size of a football field. Here is an Azurite specimen collected by a professor at the University of Utah on a trip to the mine site. ex University of Utah Dept of Geol and Geophys.
