9ice.ar ((URANPYROCHLORE aka ELLSWORTHITE)),  Radioactive, $150.00 MINIMUM BID,   Hybla, Ontario, Canada, 8 x 5 x 1.5 cm, Cabinet

Uranpyrochlore aka Ellsworthite is an Uranium niobate. This specimen is from the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia, specimen #20169, with Academy label and cardboard tray and old Ward's label with the original Ward's price tag of $12.50 still on it. The Philadelphia Academy collection is a famous collection that was put up for sale and purchased by Collectors Edge Minerals for reportedly over five million dollars and contained thousands and thousands of specimens. Many were sold in locality lots to other museums after cleaning and curating. I believe the Philadelphia Academy did not have the collection on display and needed the money for other museum projects. I was able to get a small lot of 50 flats of miscellaneous specimens years ago. Most have been sold but I kept a few for my collection. I decided to list one on the auction since I have sold several of my limited Canadian specimens from my collection during the last two years. If no bids, it will probably go back into the collection.
