Twinned terminated lustrous Calcite from China. It is odd in that the photos look like there is two faces protruding toward the front. The faces are actually forming a trough and indented toward the backside since they are part of a twinned Calcite. The termination also looks cleaved but the large area in on oneside of the twin and the smaller termination is on the other twin. Back side of the crystal as shown is grayish toward the lower have The large main Calcite crystal is cleaved at the base allowing it to set upright for display. This locality is know for its Realgar and Realgar, Calcite combinations. This one is a single twinned Calcite, a bit unusual. |
