16hecenr   ((APATITE)), FLUORESCENT, $150 MINIMUM BID,  Amdal, Amdalsmoen, Froland, Aust-Agder, Norway,  8 x 8 x 3 cm, Cabinet,

Here is an old Harry Trudell specimen with label of Apatite and possibly Powellite.   It is also from Carnegie Museum with out a label.  Another Classic locality in Norway known for Ilmenite and apatite.  Both are old rare specimens rarely seen.  The Apatite is SWUV yellow.  There is also Powellite in  the area and may be the fluorescent bluish white.  The large crystal is more gemmy than the other opaque Apatite crystals  easily seen with the fluorescent light.  I do have a concern the the fluorescent white area surrounds the large and more gemmy crystal and another white area is a impression with out a crystal.  I  believe is is a very good possibility these two crystals, one missing,  were added or at least put back into place.  It does match the other Apatite cyrstals and are obviously from the same locality.  It is still a very fine rarity of Apatite from Amdal, Norway.  I am not sure what the fluorescent white would be.  Taking off the largest crytal would make a nice thumbnail and a cabinet specimen from this locality.
