21hhdw.ir ((FLUORITE, BARITE)), $35 MINIMUM BID, Buckhorn Canyon, Dugway Range, Tooele County, Utah, 6.5 x 6.5 x 3.5 cm, Miniature

A matrix of white platey Barite crystals, not terminated. Pale green Fluorite with the largest crystals that I have seen from this locality. The Fluorite is usually purple to light green with very small crystals and only occurring on about 20% of the specimens. This is an old specimen from the mid 1990's I believe when the large specimens of terminated heavy Barite crystals was originally discovered in a new large pocket that was opened up and collected by local collectors. A nasty Nevada collector hearing about the find came into Utah, collected, and then blew up the pocket so no other specimens would be available. ex Dana Wilson MD collection # 372 with label.
