10hhmr.ns ((BARAHONAITE-Al)), $15 MINIMUM BID, 80 foot Adit, Gold Hill Mine, Tooele County, Utah, 7 x 6 x 4 cm, Cabinet

Rare species from Gold Hill described and approved about 2010. Known for many years as an unknown and work to be described with Utah being the type locality, it was bypassed by Spain that found the same species and got the work necessary to describe a new mineral done alot quicker than the work being done on the Utah occurance. Utah occurance has better specimens but not Gold Hill is closed to underground collecting. This specimen has vug areas with the botryoidal mounds of light turquoise colored Barahonaite-Al crystal clusters. These specimens may also have glassy material of the same color. This is described as Opal and looks to be present on this specimen also
