_small.jpg) | Heavy specimen with alot of Copper. Copper east of the Missippi and Michigan is unusual and uncommon. Here is a locality that is a Quarry for "greenstone" used for the small gravel on the top of asphalt shingles. They do not mine for the Copper. This was collected years ago by locals and stored for many years. About 10 years ago a local dealer acquired some pieces from being stored in a garage. The green matrix is mined from thick layers of the greenstone in areas of the quarry. |
