 | Here is a fine specimen with stalactites of Calcite coated with and filled with the rare black mineral Birnessite. This is attached to a plastic block with hot glue. Heating the glue and separating the glue from the plastic, and then heating enough to pull the glue from the specimen with care would allow the specimen to be separated from the stand. The Calcite is fragile enough to break if trying to pull the Calcite from the stand. |
