99ecaots  ((BOLEITE with PARATACAMITE)),   $25 MINIMUM BID,  Amelia Mine, Santa Rosalia, Baja California, Mexico, 3.5 x 3 x 3 cm,  Miniature

Here is a matrix Boleite specimen with 3 dark blue lustrous undamaged Boleite crystals to .5 cm. The crystals are cubic with small and large octahedral modification causing the corners to be beveled. One crystal has unusually pronounced corner beveling. These were mined by Swaboda who worked the mine for specimens in, I believe the 70's or 80's. Minor green on the front but lots of green on the backside is green Paratacamite. NOTE: DO NOT GET THE MATRIX WET! Most of these are on a matrix that sucks up water and comes apart. This one is better matrix than most but also looks like it has been stabilized with Elmers glue and water mix. With an eyedropper minimal of droplets of dilute Elmers are allowed to soak into the matrix and dry. They leave a little shiny surface residue when dry. ex Swaboda.
