 | Here are crystals of Magnetite from this iron mine owned by Bethlehem Steel, once a major steel producer located in south eastern Pennsylvania. Specimens were not collected or saved to any great extent on this underground operation. A few were brought out in lunchboxes. The main shaft was sealed with tons of concrete and the vast mine property sold. Investors purchased the property and turned it into the town of Morgan. It now is the home of an incinerator and a constant line of trash trucks arrive from Philadelphia each day with the Pennsylvania turnpike exit and entrance just across the road from the old mine property. |
