_small.jpg) | Excellent Maine Schorl with the historic typed locality information glued to the specimen. The lustrous schorl has been repaired by glueing back in place probably when collected. Glue looks very old seen between crystal and matrix. Only one Schorl specimen on mindat collected on the dumps in 2011. Quarry was active in the 1940's and 1950's for Feldspar. This specimen is probably from the time when the Quarry was active in the 1940's and 1050's. ex Dana Wilson collection 697. |
