 | Here is a golden Barite from the Eagle Mine in Gilman. There is a thin plate of Siderite with Barite covering one side and on the other side the golden Barite crystals line the edge of the specimen. The front and back sides look about the same color wise in the photos. Actually the front matches pretty well but the backside is much more golden yellow. The backside has two or three crystals near the contact edge with some minor chipping, others are fine. The front side looks good with the naked eye. With an optivisor the front has one crystal with the underside chipped. Some what appears to be minor minor edge rubbing on some crystals. It is not visable with the eye alone. So the specimen would normally appear to be undamaged without magnified careful inspection. |
