7hhjh.is ((HALITE on GYPSUM)), $10 MINIMUM BID, Great Salt Lake, Box Elder County, Utah, 10 x 8 x 5.5 cm,  Cabinet

Here is a Gypsum stalactitic growth on a piece of brush in the Salt Lake. Pointed Gypsum terminations cover the specimens. Some of the specimens are then covered with cubic colorless crystals of Halite. This is from the one time find from about 15 years ago. About 1000 specimens were collected before the conditions from rain, etc change the lake and these specimens dissolve and disappear back into the lake. When Conditions in the lake are right Halite and Gypsum crystallize and changing conditions dissolve them back each year. Pink Halite has been found since but these Gypsum stalactites only were discovered one year and not again since that time
