 | Here is a fantastic aesthetic and colorful specimen from Searles Lake. This past year was a stellar year for color on Halite specimens at Searles Lake. Aesthetic specimens are still uncommon. I picked out two. One I had on the auction in February and this is the other undamaged and aethetic. Here is a deep cranberry colored shelf which may be Nahcolite with the underside covered and crowned with hoppered Halite crystals to 2 cm. The backside which is the top of the shelf is completely made up of cubic Halite crystals to 1 cm. |
