Here is a cabinet sized massive Bornite from the Flambeau Mine. It had not been Identified and perhaps could be massive Chalcocite, but resembles Bornite with its steely blue iridescense and is probably Bornite. The Flambeau Chalcocites are modern classics and some of the best worldwide Chalcocite specimens. Specimens of associated minerals other than the great Chalcocites at the location were not collected and so are more uncommon than the great Chalcocites. The open pit high grade copper mine was mined by Kennecott Copper had a short life and is now totally reclaimed. collected by E Peterson, U of U dept of Geology and Geophysics, no label.
