BUGS in AMBER (COBAL), Columbia, South America, 11 x 3.5 x 2.5 cm | |
Large piece of polished Cobal which is the more recent form of Amber. Amber is mostly from the Baltic and Cobal is from Columbia and Dominican Republic. This specimen has many insects. The largest are the winged ants (termites) and extra detached wings showing lots of detail. There is also what looks like a large fly. With a loop, I think I also see a mosquito, spider but they are hard to find. Who knows what else among the few extra legs here and there. |
