Here is a very rare ammonium bearing Mica with the Type Locality in Japan. Utah was the second known locality. Now a couple of more localities exist. In Japan the mineral was mixed with other clay minerals. Utah has a vein occurrence where the pure minerals material is available. It is white and has a silky or shiny luster. Kaolinite is similar and white but has a dull earthy luster and may also be visible in some specimens. Any brown is iron oxide. ex Jim and Paula Wilson and collected around 1991. Jim Willson wrote a book on mineral localities in Utah and also discovered the mineral Gillulyite. Paula did her thesis on this mineral.
