8362 01atmlar   ((PYRITE, SPHALERITE, QUARTZ, CHALCOPYITE)),   $75 MINIMUM BID, Animon Mine, Pasco Department, Peru, 13.5 x 8 x 6 cm, Cabinet,

Here is a great Peruvian sulfide specimen.  Terminated Quartz crystals of which you must look hard to find a few missing crystals.  Lustrous undamaged striated cubes of Pyrite.  The large dark crystals are actually large undamaged Sphalerite crystals covered with smaller dark Chalcopyrite crystals of which some are oriented on the Sphalerite crystal edges.  In Tucson two years ago similar exceptional Animon specimens where priced at $4000 to $6000 (about $400 to $500 a specimen)  buying by the flat wholesale from Ramos Minerals, a large Peruvian mineral wholesaler.  Average specimens are much less but the exceptional specimens are pricy.
