Here are 2 specimens which are pseudos of red Jasper after Barite. These are from Colorado but are also found in the area near Moab, Utah. These are covered with the white caliche from being in the desert. This should be a calcium carbonate and removed with vinegar or muriatic acid to better show off the red jasper.
