7bttg.ig ((FLUORITE)), $15 MINIMUM BID, Navidad, Rodeo, Durango, Mexico, 6.5 x 5 x 3 cm, Miniature

Here are octahedral crystals of Fluorite. Most minerals show not be in direct sunlight since many can fade overtime. Here is an exception. This one is actually enhanced in the sunlight. Story has it that these are actually colorless in the mine and for some time miners looked for the source of colorful shards and crystals found outside on the ground. Finally they figured it out and the sun was the source of the color. The sun brings out the color in these unusual Fluorite specimens from Mexico. I am not sure if these are still being mined. There used to be many at shows and now they seem to be all gone
