14hhlsne ((PYRITE)), $25 MINIMUM BID, Ross County, Ohio, 12 x 5.5 x 2 cm, Cabinet | |
Here is a double terminated undamaged worm like Pyrite although it has been repaired, restored from three sections. These are found in the shale and clay of north-western Ross County in Ohio. It is impossible to extract a specimen like this in one piece from the shale. Collecting and prepping done by John and Jay Medici whom also are known for collecting and restoring a huge Herkimer Diamond pocket for the Smithsonian Museum which is on display. This specimen was probably the result of Pyrite crystallizing within an ancient marine worm burrow. Looks like the alien water in Abyss. |
