8234 5btjklr   ((CALCITE)),   $50 MINIMUM BID, Ophir Hill Mine, Ophir District, Tooele County, Utah, 12 x 10 x 5.5 cm, Cabinet,

Undamaged other than a couple of very very minor spots. Here is a matrix specimen from Ophir covered with the stacked flattened rhombic Calcite crystals. Fluorescent red orange under UV SW. Nice larger Ophir Calcite. Usually Ophir Calcite is collected to be etched with HCl to expose the Scheelite under the Calcite and no care is taken not to ding and destroy the Calcite. When Scheelite is present a small amount is seen using a UV light around the edges of the specimen. I am not sure on this one but I do not think it has Scheelite. This is from my show stock at $180.
