5swl ((QUARTZ with ARSENOPYRITE inclusions)), Yaogangxian Mine, Hunan Province, China, 21 x 9.5 x 9.5 cm, large cabinet | |
Here is a huge single terminated Quartz specimen. The base that was once the fracture has multiple terminated Quartz crystals that have regrown in a paralled orientation. The specimen has a very minor chipping at the termination but overall is undamaged. Two of the large faces of the crystal has a coating of small flattened Calcite rhombs which are brown and almost resemble siderite but are Calcite. The neat part is that frozen in the Quartz are two silvery lustrous inclusions of probably Arsenopyrite crystals. The larger one is about 5 mm in length. |
